Hyderabad Metropolitan water supply and sewerage board

In 2019 Hyderabad metropolitan water supply sewerage board came up with a detailed project report in order to increase the water supply to Hyderabad. Reason being, Hyderabad one of fast growing IT hub in India- increase in migrating population forced the water authority to find a solution to cater the water supply needs for the new areas falling under HMWSSB limits.

About HMWSSB

The Board was constituted on 1.11.1989 under the provisions of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Act 1989 (Act No . 15 of 1989 ), with the following Functions & Responsibilities in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Area. The Supply of potable water including planning, design, construction, maintenance, operation & management of water supply system. Sewerage, Sewerage Disposal and sewerage treatment works including planning, design, construction, maintenance, operation & management of all sewerage and sewerage treatment works. HMWSSB directly falls under telangan chief minster portfolio and directly monitored by Honourable Minister of Municipal administration and urban development Mr KT Rama Rao. 

Main source of Water

Yellampalli Reservoir for Godavari Drinking Water supply Project. Tapping from Godavari Drinking Water supply Project Pipeline at Ghanpur through 1800mm Pipeline of 43 KM upto Patancheruvu. 

Package is divided into three segments and awarded as below. Each package consists of following valves:

  • DN 300 BFV PN 16 – 1 nos
  • DN 200 air valves (U cluster arrangement ) i.e with 2 nos DN 200 air valves and  DN 300 isolation valves- 12 sets
  • DN 600 Scour valves – 2 nos 
  • From Patancheruvu to Kolluru- 6km -3000mm Pipeline execution by Megha Engg 
  • From Kolluru to Janwada - 6km -3000mm Pipeline execution by NCC Ltd  
  • From Janwada to Kokapet - 6km -3000mm Pipeline execution by L&T construtions

Order received for DN 3000 BFV- 3 nos – November 2020

Inspection @ AVK India on 1st week of June 2021

Delivered valves @ site by 2nd week of June 2021
